Semo Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how 46degrees LLC (“46degrees,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with Semo.
The Short Version
Semo calculates on your device and stores your workbooks locally. When iCloud is available and enabled for Semo, your workbooks can also sync through Apple’s iCloud service. We do not receive or have access to the contents of your private iCloud workbooks.
Semo has no separate user accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party telemetry services. We do not sell your personal information.
Information Semo Handles
Semo stores the information you enter, including workbook titles, calculations, notes, and folder names, together with organizational information such as creation and modification dates, ordering, and pinned status. The app uses this information to display, organize, calculate, and save your workbooks.
Semo also stores preferences, such as your selected font, number format, and alignment options, on your device. Calculations are evaluated locally; they are not sent to 46degrees or an external calculation service.
We do not collect your workbook content, location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or app usage analytics. Semo does not send crash reports or diagnostic telemetry to a service operated by us.
iCloud Sync
If you use iCloud with Semo, Apple processes and stores your workbook and folder information through CloudKit in the private iCloud database associated with your Apple Account. This lets Semo synchronize your library across devices using the same Apple Account. Your workbooks are not placed in a public database or shared with other Semo users.
We do not operate a server that receives this information, and we cannot view or delete the contents of your private iCloud database for you. Apple’s handling of iCloud information is governed by Apple’s privacy policies and your iCloud settings and terms.
You can manage Semo’s access to iCloud through your device’s Apple Account and iCloud settings. Disabling iCloud access stops that device from syncing; it does not necessarily delete information already stored in iCloud.
In-App Purchases and the App Store
Semo Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. Semo uses Apple’s StoreKit purchase information on your device to determine whether Pro features are unlocked and to restore eligible purchases. We do not receive your payment card or bank account information.
Apple may independently process information about App Store downloads, purchases, and diagnostics you choose to share with Apple. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s privacy policies.
Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include, such as a description of an issue or a screenshot. We use this information to respond, maintain necessary business records, resolve disputes, or comply with law. Please avoid including sensitive workbook information unless it is needed for your request.
Support messages may be handled by our email provider or disclosed where required by law. We do not sell them or use them for advertising.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your workbooks remain on your devices and, if you use sync, in your private iCloud storage until you remove them. You can delete a workbook in Semo. When iCloud sync is active, the deletion is synchronized to your other connected devices as Apple’s service processes it. Deleting a folder moves its workbooks back to the main list; it does not delete their contents.
Removing Semo from one device does not necessarily remove its data from iCloud, other devices, or backups. You can manage stored app data through Apple’s iCloud storage controls where available. Copies in device backups are subject to your backup settings and Apple’s retention practices.
We do not retain copies of your workbooks. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, keep business records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. You may contact us to request deletion of information you sent directly to us, subject to any legal retention requirements.
Children’s Privacy
Semo does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us, please contact us so we can address it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if Semo’s practices or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the date above.
